Xweather Protect plays a sound when a lightning or hail alert starts. If you do not hear a sound, check the following:
Audible alerts are enabled. In your user preferences, check that Browser notifications (audio) is enabled. For instructions, see Setting user preferences.
The ring plays a sound. If Lightning rings is set to Alarm and warning rings, alerts in the info ring do not play a sound. To hear all rings, select All rings.
Your browser allows sound. If the message
Audio notification failed to playis shown, your browser is blocking sound. In the site settings of your browser, allow sound for Xweather Protect, and then reload the page. The Favorites tab is not limiting the alerts. When the Favorites tab is selected in the list of assets, you hear alerts only from your favorite assets. To hear all alerts, select another tab. For more information, see Viewing alert status of protected assets.
The sound has not been turned off. If someone selected the speaker icon for the asset, the sound stays off for that alert. The sound plays again when a new alert starts.
Your device volume is on. Check that the volume of your device is turned up and that the browser tab is not muted.
If you still do not hear a sound, contact support.
