You can view different map layers in the Map view. Xweather Protect users now have the following default severe weather map layers enabled: Lightning alert rings, Lightning events at, and Lightning forecast.
When different map layer selections are made, the selection data is cached in the local browser. These selections replace the default severe weather layers in future sessions until different layers are selected, or the browser cache is cleared. Then the default map layers will be enabled automatically.
Some users who have logged into the platform since the September 2025 user experience update will have had their most recent enabled map layers saved in their local browser cache data. These users may not see the default severe weather map layers enabled automatically. To enable these defaults, users can:
Enable the desired map layers, such as Lightning alert rings, Lightning events at, and Lightning forecast.
OR
Log out, clear the browser cache, and log back in.
