Assets are locations you want to protect with severe weather alerts, such as lightning, hail, storm arrival estimates, or high wind forecasts, to help automate and enhance your safety procedures.
Admin users can add and edit assets, and protect and unprotect assets.

Creating assets
You can add assets by searching for a name or location, by manually inputting the coordinates, or by selecting a location on the map and filling out the other asset details. Any location on a map can be an asset. Assets that are below -85 or above 85 degrees latitude do not receive alerts and may not be displayed properly.
Select + Add > Asset.
Fill in asset information manually or pre-populate the form via search or file upload.
Asset name: any descriptive name of your choice.
Asset type: the type of asset the location represents.
Description: a description of your choice.
To search for an asset and have the information filled in from the publicly available map data, type in the location search a street address or the name of a landmark. The geo-coordinates are automatically added.
If an asset has already been defined in a separate GIS tool, upload a file in the specified format (geoJSON, JSON, or SHP), which includes the geometry and geo-coordinate information.
Select Next.
If filling in asset information manually, select asset geometry type (point, polyline or polygon) and specify the coordinates by typing in the fields or drawing them on the map.
Select Add to draw on the map. If drawing lines or polygons, end drawing the shape by pressing the Enter key.
Select Save.
The asset appears on the list of assets on the left. Select it, and the map centers on the asset.
Viewing assets
You can view the name, type, and description of an existing asset.
Select Map.
Select the asset on the list of assets on the left to open the asset detail panel.
Select the Options icon (⋮) and view the asset details.
Editing assets
You can edit the name, type, and description of an existing asset as long as it is not protected with alerts.
Select Map.
Select the asset on the list of assets on the left to open the asset detail panel.
Select Edit asset.
Edit the asset details and select Save.
